A Delicious Cheese Paste for Times of Lockdown:

Take all the assorted bits of dried-up inedible cheese from the back of the cheese drawer, irrespective of variety, rinds included. Put the mélange into a food processor and grind up finely.

To the resultant cheese powder add salt, pepper and English mustard powder. Fennel seeds and cayenne pepper also go very well. Melt an appropriate quantity of unsalted butter and mix with the above. Allow to set.

When set take a packet of the finest small artesanal oat biscuits, a bottle of wine, or better port, sit down in a comfortable chair, spread the paste onto the biscuits, pour a glass of wine and proceed to enjoy your lockdown to the full.
