Call with The Immigration Professor Re. Surrendering Green Cards

• 2 adults, 2 children. UK citizens living in Seattle, WA
• greencard holders since July 2020 (<8 years)
• August 20th relocating to the UK
• Planning to surrender our green cards: don’t plan to move back to the UK, don’t want to go past the 8 year trigger
• need advice on timing and process for surrendering the green cards.
• Form I-407, mail it back from the UK? Is it effective the date on the form?
