Vibe coding - a tool for alignment

From Ben Dixon at Sona Technologies:

Day to day; We’re about 130 people in the company of which about 50 sit in product and engineering e.g. roll up to me. How to best allocate time is a topic I’d be really interested to chat more about. I think my role is slightly different to the average CTO role in that it’s probably closer to CTPO e.g. I sit across tech and product so own both “what’s the product vision” and “how do we technically execute against that vision”. 12 months ago that meant very little time spent at a keyboard and most of the time was group or 1 to 1 sessions aligning on vision or resource allocation and reviewing progress. Now that’s been slightly turned on it’s head because you can prototype things in a few hours and so increasingly prototypes seem to be valid tools for aligning people on outcomes. E.g. I’m doing the first test of giving a small team something I prototyped in a few hours to explain the vision and then having them spent the quarter shipping it to the first few customers.
